How to get a certification EN ISO 3834 – ZAVOD CERT

Process

1. The manufacturer identifies  the level  of quality requirements according to EN ISO 3834 that is appropriate or required for their product. In case of doubt, ZAVOD-CERT can be consulted for advice.

2. The manufacturer establishes and implements a management system for welding activities according to the selected level of quality requirements of EN ISO 3834. Using a list of self-assessment questions, they review their own welding management system.

3. The manufacturer sends a written request for certification to ZAVOD-CERT at the address: Zavod za zavarivanje – ZAVOD-CERT, 11050 Belgrade, Grčića Milenka 67 or via e-mail: office@zzz.co.rs. With the request, they can also submit a completed „Informative Questionnaire“.

4. Based on the data from the „Informative Questionnaire“, ZAVOD-CERT assesses the scope and cost of the work and submits a certification offer to the manufacturer. When contracting, the manufacturer can opt for a preliminary visit during which his readiness to enter the certification procedure should be assessed. The preliminary check is performed by a competent person from ZAVOD-CERT.

5. After accepting the offer, ZAVOD-CERT appoints a team of assessors and the applicant is provided with a corresponding „Questionnaire on quality requirements“, which the manufacturer fills out and returns to ZAVOD-CERT together with other documentation required from him. Written consent is required from the manufacturer for the appointed team of assessors.

6. The lead assessor reviews the data from the Questionnaire and the attached documentation, creates an assessment plan and determines the date of the assessment visit. The manufacturer has to agree on the proposed visit date.

7. A team of assessors conducts the on-site assessment. Checking and verifying the implementation and compliance of the manufacturer with the selected part of EN ISO 3834 is carried out through discussions, review and analysis of documentation, insight into organizational and production conditions, direct observation of activities in welding production facilities. An important activity during the assessment visit is a conversation with the responsible welding coordinator.

8. After the assessment, the lead assessor prepares a „Detailed Assessment Report“ that contains all identified nonconformities and objections and deadlines for their elimination. The manufacturer has to accept the report.

9. The manufacturer has to remove the identified nonconformities within the defined deadline and submit evidence thereof to the lead assessor. In order to verify the implemented corrective measures, the lead assessor can also include a follow-up check.

10. After all identified nonconformities have been eliminated, the lead assessor prepares a „Final Assessment Report“ with a proposal for certification and submits it to the ZAVOD-CERT Certification Scheme Manager. ZAVOD-CERT makes a decision on issuing of the certification.

11. . ZAVOD-CERT delivers a certificate on the fulfillment of quality requirements according to the relevant part of EN ISO 3834 to the manufacturer. The field of application is defined in the certification.

12. ZAVOD-CERT monitors, through periodic inspections, whether the certified manufacturer continuously fulfills the established criteria of the certification scheme, i.e. permanent compliance with EN ISO 3834.

13. After the expiration of the period for which the certificate was issued, at the request of the manufacturer, re-assessment is carried out to reissue the certification.
